The WFE Publishes Open Letter on Cross-border Fragmentation in Sustainability Regulation 

The World Federation of Exchanges (WFE), the global industry association for exchanges and clearing houses, has today published an open letter highlighting the barriers to capital movement caused by fragmented sustainability regulation.

WFE Advocates Key Principles for Irish Approach to Tokenisation

For tokenisation in regulated markets, the WFE views it as an evolutionary step rather than a transformative one, with the greatest benefits likely in post-trade processes such as collateral management, reconciliation and asset servicing.

The WFE Launches Formal Consultation on Draft Transition Equity Principles

This consultation follows the initial publication of the industry-backed WFE Transition Equity Principles on 26 May 2026 and presentation at the WFE’s Sustainability Conference in Luxembourg on 3-4 June 2026.

WFE Calls on European Commission to Introduce “Report Once, Use Many” Approach to Global Sustainability Reporting 

The World Federation of Exchanges welcomes the European Commission’s ongoing work to simplify and streamline the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS) and appreciates the opportunity to provide feedback on the draft revised ESRS Delegated Act.

WFE Responds to IOSCO on Good Practices for OTC Commodity Derivatives Markets 

In summary, the response supports a risk-based approach to OTC reporting, while emphasising that comprehensive OTC data collection should remain a regulator-led function rather than an exchange responsibility.

Market structure might, at first glance, seem like a technical discussion of trading venues and market participants, but it is fundamentally important for effective capital raising and ensuring the best outcomes for end investors.
