Korea Securities Depository (KSD) is the central securities depository of the Korean capital market. Since its establishment in 1974, KSD has long underpinned and advanced the Korean capital market and always acted in the best interest of investors at home and abroad. Now, we are expanding out footprint towards global financial markets to contribute to brightening the outlook of the industry.

1. Central Securities Depository
Securities depositories and settlement infrastructures are required to execute large volumes of transactions in the capital market. As the nation’s central securities depository, KSD aims to enhance efficiency in securities issuance and circulation, as well as in financial transactions and thus help reduce social transaction costs for the economy. KSD has ensured the reliable deposit, registration, clearing and settlement of securities and constantly driven innovation to offer cost-effective, high-quality services or nearly 50 years. In September 2019, KSD launched an electronic securities registration system to go paperless in a more digitalized environment.

2. Provider of various Services
KSD goes beyond the conventional domain of CSD by operating a central processing platform for asset management (FundNet) as well as promoting other market-oriented services. KSD has also expanded its footprint in global financial markets by providing the custody and settlement services for offer securities in 40 markets targeted by domestic investors.

3. Core Infrastructure of Capital Market
KSD makes the financial industry more stable and efficient by bridging the gap between securities services and the financial sector in order to advance the national economy as a social overhead capital infrastructure.
